Low Dose Naltrexone (LDN) Compounding
Low dose naltrexone (LDN) is naltrexone — a medication originally approved at higher doses for opioid and alcohol dependence — prescribed off-label at much smaller doses for other purposes, under a provider's direction.
Why LDN is compounded, not dispensed commercially
Naltrexone isn't commercially manufactured in the small doses used for LDN protocols. Because of this, LDN is only available through compounding — there's no standard retail tablet to fall back on, which makes an experienced compounding pharmacy essential to accessing it at all.
What LDN is used for
LDN is prescribed off-label by providers for a range of conditions, including certain autoimmune conditions, chronic pain, and fibromyalgia, among others. Research and clinical experience vary by condition, and whether LDN is appropriate depends on your individual diagnosis and provider's assessment — this page is educational, not a claim that LDN treats any specific condition.
Our compounding approach
We prepare LDN capsules to your provider's exact prescribed dose and titration schedule, working from established compounding standards. As with our other compounded medications, we're able to prepare LDN using plant-based cellulose capsules, an option worth discussing if you have Alpha-Gal Syndrome or other capsule-related sensitivities — learn more →
Getting started
LDN requires a prescription from your provider. If you already have a prescription, we're glad to fill it. If you're interested in whether LDN may be appropriate for your situation, that conversation starts with your provider.
This is a compounded preparation, prepared to your provider's prescription and not an FDA-approved commercial product.
